September is one of the busiest months of the year for TV — new seasons of fall favorites, a wave of documentaries, competition shows returning, and a few brand new series to keep an eye on. Fall premiere season is officially here.
Here are the shows I’m personally planning to watch or looking forward to this month. As new episodes premiere, some of these titles may later be added to the My Mood Watch catalog with full reviews and recommendations.

DocumentaryAnother entry in Netflix’s Untold series, this time following Mr. T’s journey from bodyguard to icon. A fun, nostalgic one for anyone who grew up on 80s pop culture.
The Real Housewives of New York City – New Season (Bravo / next day Peacock)
New SeasonRHONY returns for another season. The city that started the whole Housewives franchise is back with new drama and the same big personalities we’ve come to expect.

New ShowApple TV+ brings a new mystery series to the lineup. The title alone hints at a missing-persons thriller with plenty of twists — right up my alley.
The Paper – Season 2 (Peacock)
New Season 2The Office spinoff/mockumentary continues into a second season. If season one won you over, this is your sign to keep going.
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives – New Season (Hulu)
New SeasonThe breakout reality hit returns for another season. Expect more secrets, scandal, and the kind of drama that made this show a must-watch out of nowhere.
Crew Girl (Netflix)
New ShowA new Netflix series that sounds like it’s bringing plenty of drama with a workplace or crew-life angle. Adding it to the watchlist to see where it goes.
A Killer Story (HBO)
DocumentaryHBO’s latest true crime documentary looks like it’s going to be tense and deeply reported. HBO rarely misses in this space, so this one is high on my list.
Dancing with the Stars – Season 35
New Season 35The ballroom staple returns for season 35. A new cast of celebrities, a new season of glitter and drama, and the same reliably fun competition format.

New Season 2RJ Decker returns for a second season. If you enjoyed the first run, this is your reminder that it’s back and ready to pick up where it left off.
Slow Horses – New Season (Apple TV+)
New SeasonOne of Apple TV+’s best-kept secrets returns for another season. Gary Oldman’s Jackson Lamb and the misfit spies of Slough House are back, and this show never disappoints.
Neagley (Prime Video)
New Show – Reacher SpinoffThe Reacher universe expands with a new spinoff following Neagley. Fans of the franchise have been asking for this, and it’s finally here.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City – Season 7 (Bravo / next day Peacock)
New Season 7RHOSLC returns for a seventh season. One of the most consistently dramatic Housewives franchises is back, and I don’t expect this season to slow down.
The Traitors: New Blood (NBC / next day Peacock)
New SeasonThe Traitors brings a fresh batch of players into the castle. This format has become one of the most addictive competition shows on TV, and a new cast means a whole new set of betrayals to watch unfold.
Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story (Netflix)
New ShowRyan Murphy’s Monster anthology tackles the infamous Lizzie Borden case next. Given the franchise’s track record, expect this to be dark, stylish, and impossible to stop watching.
