Description (No Spoilers)
In the City is Bravo's newest reality series and a spin-off of Summer House. Instead of following a group of friends sharing a summer home, the series takes viewers into their everyday lives in New York City. Familiar faces return alongside a mostly brand-new cast, creating fresh friendships, relationships, and plenty of drama while still giving longtime fans updates on some of their favorite personalities.
Why I Recommend It
If you're a Summer House fan, In the City is an absolute must-watch. Seeing Lindsay Hubbard and Kyle Cooke—two of the franchise's biggest personalities—navigate their real lives in New York instead of a shared vacation house gives the show a completely different feel. I honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, but it quickly won me over.
The best part is that you don't need to watch Summer House first. Since most of the cast is new, everyone is getting to know these personalities together, making it a great entry point for new viewers. The only storyline that felt repetitive was watching the final chapter of Kyle and Amanda's marriage. After following their ups and downs for over a decade on Summer House, revisiting the same arguments became a little exhausting. Still, that wasn't enough to take away from what was otherwise a fun and entertaining first season.
The fact that Bravo gave the show a two-part reunion feels like a promising sign that In the City is here to stay. While the network hasn't officially announced a renewal yet, I'm definitely hoping we'll get a second season.
